Nature's Spirit Studio

Painter John M. Kowarski

WE MUST

For all things living,

Great and small,

For our grandchildren,

And planet too,

Become Stewards of the Earth,

And Keepers of the Wild.

John M. Kowarski

John spent much of his youth exploring the backwoods and lakes of the Kawarthas.  Once an avid hunter, he had many opportunities to get close to nature and was touched by its rhythms.  Over time, he replaced the rifle with the paint brush and now attempts to capture that mystery.

During that transition, his recognition has grown and resulted in first place awards from The Gallery on the Lake, Buckhorn, Ontario, where his work has been exhibited, and The Whetung Gallery, Buckhorn, and The Ethel Curry Gallery, Haliburton, where his work is presently on display.  John exhibited at the Buckhorn Fine Art Festival in August of 2008.

Ostensibly a self-taught artist, Johns primary medium is acrylics.  His interpretation and style, whether painted on feather, canvas, or in miniature are unique.  The detail and depth of understanding, depicted within each piece, promotes respect for nature and our environment.

No matter what the subject, John breathes life and a spirit into them.  His works, which can be found in corporate and private collections, characterize the native respect for Mother Earth and their belief that we are transients on this planet and Earth Keepers for future generations.

From his home, Natures Spirit Studio in Dunsford, John pursues his passion for painting and his love of the outdoors.  There property enjoys a grand view of Sturgeon Lake from the southern shore line.

Examples of

John's Work :

Acrylics on feathers, canvas and canoe paddles, depicting wildlife and nature.

John also enjoys painting miniatures and has been included in juried Art Shows in Florida.

With the help of his wife, original feather art is mounted and framed to wonderfully match the colours and tones of the art work.  See the Photo Gallery for some framed pieces.

Giclee prints are sometimes available of John's art.  Greetings Cards are also printed.
