My love affair with antiques began as a teenager.  I attended an auction and brought home a beautiful decorated stoneware piece.  I was hooked !

For nearly twenty years I had my antique store operating at the northwest corner of Highways 6 & 7 in Oakwood.  For those of you not familiar, Oakwood is a beautiful little hamlet located less than 10 kilometres west of Lindsay.  I have moved from that corner store just a short distance east along Highway 7.  You should be able to see my OPEN sign on the south side of the road – right across the street from the church.

Country Sampler in Oakwood has plenty of good quality items to look at, all in very good condition and the staff is very helpful and friendly.  The selection is one of the best we have seen in a long time.  Country Sampler actually has antiques !  Well worth the drive.  We made an after hours appointment, stayed quite a while, had a great visit with the owner and we were not pressured to purchase anything.  We left and checked out many other places and came back the next day to find more stock to view and bought a few items. Our vist to the Kawarthas was quite enjoyable, we found all the folks in all the shops very friendly and helpful.  We will certainly return.
